Jennifer Stopher

I am no stranger to suffering. I have first-hand experience with maybe some of the things you find yourself going through. Fortunately, I found my way out and discovered the power of a changed life through my own counseling. I have since decided to dedicate my life to helping others go through the same transformation.

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master's Degree from the University of Southern California, I have had the privilege of working with a diverse group of people for over 20 years. I am committed to providing a safe environment and a genuine caring respectful and supportive relationship to those I work with.

I believe in resilience, hope and discovering opportunities for change and growth. I work collaboratively with my clients to address the issues that are most relevant to them. I have a direct interaction style and appreciate the use of humor in healing. I aim to support my clients in reaching their goals and finding confidence and joy in all aspects of life.

I like to bring this sense of peace into my counseling sessions. When parents argue with children, when siblings fight, when spouses are at odds, I access this serene place and I help my clients internalize this peace.

About Me

I have training in multiple treatment approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR Therapy. Psychodynamic, Mindfulness and Play Therapy. I understand that not every approach is best for every person For this reason, not only is my work highly individualized, but I also strive to expand my knowledge in the most researched and effective treatment approaches to support my clients I provide services to children, adolescents and families. My clients are often struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, infertility and grief. They may be impacted by Autism Spectrum disorder, Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, learning challenges or adoption. I have many treatment options that can help parenting and behavioral issues.

I believe that just as we visit our dentist and doctor to maintain our health, it is also equally important that we see a counselor to maintain our emotional and mental health. When I felt overwhelmed with work and it began to take a toll on my physical health and personal life, working with a counselor helped me clarify my life purpose and what is most important in my life. I believe that it is essential to maintain a healthy and balanced mind and body. Therefore, I will continue to seek my own personal counseling in the future when necessary. I believe that I can only the best counselor possible when I am my best self.

You are not alone.

I look forward to hearing from you and beginning our work together.
